Hot Tub Project

Hot Tub Project Proposal, 2005

The Hot Tub project revels in the playfulness of audience participation. It is entirely meant to be used by the public as a place to get away from it all. A hot tub sits in the center of the gallery completely surrounded by hand made watercolor wallpaper of starry night (see it printed in the forthcoming issue of ArtUS). A Chandelier hangs from above; the mood is very dark, warm, candlelight. The hot tub lining is coated in silver metallic paint to give the illusion that the water is made of bubbling mercury. The water is warm and the audience is invited to participate by entering the tub and enjoying the relaxing atmosphere. The steam fogs up and drips down the front windows of the gallery space.
